Campsite at Kodachrome Basin State Park in southwest Utah.
I travel and celebrate the West.
After a lifetime of academic and professional achievement, some success, a little failure and loss, I now travel lonesome highways through verdant deserts, and grassy rolling hills, polished red rock canyons and sparkling mountains. I camp and I walk and I celebrate beauty. I strive to experience, as Edward Abbey said, "The heartbreaking beauty where there are no hearts to break" in the West. My desire, in these few pages, is to share what I have found, what I'm finding and what I seek. There are pictures and stories for those of us who seem to find our only true home in the American West. Join me!
